Profile - Ministry of Mining

A brief  profile of Dr. Andu Ezbon Adde

Dr Andu Ezbon Adde is the fisrst and current undersecretary in the ministry of Mining, Republic of South SXudasn.

He graduated from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda in 1973. After years of working experience he got  a M.Sc. in Mineral Exploration(1984) and a PhD in Gold Mineralization(1990), both from Brussel University Belgium. He attended several specialized courses, including ore body modeling and reserves estimates; cement raw materials exploration and computer application in ore genesis.

Dr. Adde’s work experience started when he joined kilembe mines ltd in Uganda as an exploration and underground mining geologist in 1974. In this copper-Gold-Cobalt mine he rose among the ranks and became the head of the mining, Laboratory and Drilling Department before returning to then sudan in 1979. He was a deputy Director of minerals exploration, juba Sothern Region (1979-1992 including years of post-graduate and research studies);                Director of Mineral Exploration in the Geological research Authority of Sudan(1992-2017); Exploration Manager at EYAT Exploration and Mining Company Ltd, Blue Nile State, Sudan (2008-2011); Technical Services Manager, Dar Petroleum Operating Company, Juba (2012-march 2013) and then he was appointed by a presidential Degree as undersecretary for mining in the defunct Ministry of Petroleum and Mining(march – 2013)a post he holds till now.

In addition to all of phase Dr.Adde was a part time assistant professor of Geology at University of Juba (1992-1998); a member of natural          Resources College Board, University of Juba (1998-2007); a member National Council for Higher Education (2012-2016); a consultant/ Advisor to several exploration and mining companies including CIMERIC/Equotorgold, New Kush, EYAT, in South Sudan.

Dr. Ass has presented over 25 years research papers in national and international conferences and workshops in Sudan, London, Australia, south Africa, India, Russia, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Niger, Zambia, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen and other places.

Dr. Adde is married with children and growing number of grand-children. He wishes that some of his grand children will take geosciences studies seriously, after him.
